VCU is dedicated to the success of undergraduate transfer students throughout their transition to VCU. Our goal is to support new transfer students throughout their first year at VCU. The Transfer Year Experience (TYE) officially launched in Fall 2024 and provides a mechanism to support new transfer students academically, socially, and functionally. All new transfer students are added to the TYE Canvas page, which provides a resource guide and communication about information important to transfer students.

Enjoy a variety of activities designed just for transfer students throughout the year. With a mixture of fun, social, academic, goal-oriented, and resource-focused options, we try to offer something for everyone. Be on the lookout for announcements about Transfer Student Week activities in the Fall semester every year. Our goal is to have you feeling connected and at home at VCU as quickly as possible!

Tau Sigma National Honor Society

Tau Sigma, the national honor society for transfer students, recognizes the academic achievement of students transferring to VCU and promotes involvement in activities such as recruiting efforts, transfer student orientations, community service projects and social events.

You’ll be eligible for membership if you transferred at least 30 credits, took at least 12 credits in your first semester at VCU, and earned at least a 3.5 GPA in your first semester at VCU. Eligible students will automatically receive an invitation to join Tau Sigma early in the spring semester after they enroll at VCU. Email tausigma@vcu.edu for more details.
